Troubleshooting

If something looks off, the cause is usually one of a small handful of things. Start here.

Common issues

The material renders pink in the scene.

The shader failed to compile or could not be located. Verify that the package was imported correctly and that the project's render pipeline matches the supported configuration. The package supports both URP and Built-in pipelines, and neither requires additional setup. If the pipeline was switched mid-project, reimport the shaders folder to clear any stale variants.

The preview is empty or black.

No channels are activated. New materials begin with all channels disabled. Activate at least one channel to produce visible output.

A channel is active but the canvas displays no effect.

The channel has not yet been painted into. Paint a region with the brush tool by left-dragging on the canvas.

Animations do not play in the editor.

Verify that Edit-mode Animation is enabled in Material Settings. Animations pause when the canvas tab loses focus and resume when focus is restored.

A Custom Flow path resets after a script recompile.

This behaviour has been resolved in a recent build. The editor now reseeds gradient configurations from the mask texture's metadata sub-cell on domain reload. On older builds, closing and reopening the window restores the data, which was never lost.

Custom Flow 3 / 4 appear pixelated.

Channels 3 and 4 bake their gradient at a lower internal resolution than channels 1 and 2. Increasing the mask resolution in Material Settings to 1024 or higher will produce a crisper bake.
